MSCI US IMI Information Technology 25/50 Index
What the MSCI US IMI Information Technology 25/50 Index is, where it lives officially, and how its ride has looked over the years.
What does the MSCI US IMI Information Technology 25/50 Index track?
Every US information-technology company that is realistically buyable — large, mid and small caps classified as tech by the GICS industry standard, a few hundred names dominated by the giants at the top.
The 25/50 in the name is a diversification rule from the US tax code (no holding above 25%, the big holdings capped at 50% combined), not a strategy. This is a sector bet, not a broad-market fund: when tech sneezes, it catches pneumonia.
